Is There More Rain Headed Our Way?
Early this morning, there was an impressive cluster of showers and thunderstorms rumbling across the western border of Minnesota, courtesy of North and South Dakota. As I said on our morning show, if those storms stay together, we could get some impressive rainfall amounts in the Twin Ports later in the day. But, I also mentioned that they had a long way to travel, and they may die out before they reach the Twin Ports. And, that’s exactly what happened. I was hoping they would get here, as we haven’t had any measurable rain for a week. But, we got just enough sprinkles to wet the pavement.
While we may see some light rain overnight, the atmosphere usually settles down once the sun sets, so I think we are more than likely in for a quiet night. On Friday morning, we will start the day mostly cloudy, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some fog in low lying areas. We will dip down to about 60 degrees for an overnight low. By noontime on Friday, the sunshine should break thru the clouds, and we should end up having a pretty decent day, with highs in the upper 70s. The average high for tomorrow is 75 degrees, and we should be a little bit above that. Saturday and Sunday are looking great for the last weekend of August, with sunny skies and highs around 80.
Get outside and enjoy it!
