The Last Full Weekend of August
September is coming fast, now! The last day of August is a week from tomorrow. A week from Sunday is September 1st. Boy, almost puts you in the Christmas spirit, eh?
But, lets not let summer get away too quickly. We still have almost a month to go til Fall arrives. So, lets really enjoy this last full weekend of August. The weather is going to cooperate perfectly, whether you’re staying in the Twin Ports, or heading to the Twin Cities for the State Fair. In Duluth, we will start Saturday morning with a little bit of patchy fog. That will quickly give way to abundant sunshine, and we’ll look for a high about 80 degrees on Saturday, which is about 5 degrees above average. The winds will be light, out of the SW, and it will be a delightful day! Sunday looks identical, so it’s a 2 for 1 weekend special! If you are heading to the State Fair, look for highs in the upper 80s on Saturday, and near 90 on Sunday!
Most of us will head back to work on Monday, and we may be accompanied by some rain and thunder. There’s a better than 50/50 chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday. Some could produce more than a half inch of rain. We will have a high in the low 80s on Monday, with more muggy conditions, too, as dew points rise into the upper 60s. Things will cool off for the rest of the week, with highs in the 70s and another chance for showers on Thursday.
So, savor this last, warm and sunny weekend of August 2024!
