Home-Grown Goods At The Clover Valley Farm Fest

TWO HARBORS, Minn. — Local farmers were sowing seeds of community in Two Harbors on Sunday.

The Second Annual Clover Valley Farm Fest was under way bringing with it local vendors, farmers, and performers. The ten farmers that make up the Clover Valley Trail put the festival together to get the word out on how beneficial it is to buy local and get to know farmers around you.

“The Clover Valley Farm Trail is a group of ten different farms, and we all came together to do this event together, but we organize, someone said ‘what if you do something like the Bayfield fruit loop’ but we do it with veggies and other farm products,” said Pat Berger, Co-Organizer of the Clover Valley Farm Fest. “When your food is brought from a shorter distance, it’s a lot better for the environment, it’s a lot less expensive, and you’re just supporting your friends and neighbors, and we have a nice group of people out here in this Clover Valley area that are growing vegetables.”

The festival isn’t the only chance to get your hands on fresh, local produce. Their website has a list of vendor locations and their hours so you can stop by whenever they’re open.
