Final First Day for LSC President

The LSC President is stepping down after what will be six years in the position.

DULUTH, Minn. — Students at Lake Superior College were back on campus Monday, greeted with food, root beer floats and Rock N’ Roll.

But it marks the last ‘first day’ of classes for one member of the LSC community. After 5 years as the school’s president, Patricia Rogers announced she is stepping down at the end of this year. Rogers said she’s thankful for the opportunity to have worked closely with students throughout her time in the position. and is excited to see what new leadership brings to the college.

“I have been in the system since 1996 as a professor,” Rogers said, “and then a dean, and then I was a provost at Winona State.” Reflecting on her position as president she said, “this is my capstone career right now, being the college president here at Lake Superior College.”

LSC has not named a replacement for Rogers, but she said the position will no doubt be a competitive one to fill.
