Wednesday Morning Northland Forecast: 8/28/2024

A Cool & Breezy Day

We are going to have a little bit of everything this week, weatherwise. Monday brought us a high of 90, with dewpoints in the 70s. Tuesday was cooler and rainy, with more than .60″ of rain. Today is the in-between day with some sunshine and temps in the 60s. And in a few days, we’ll have some low temps in the 40s. Can snow flurries be far behind?

Today really is the “Goldilocks” kind of day. No crazy heat and humidity. No torrential downpours. No thunder and lightning. Just some high pressure, bringing us sunny skies, some winds off Lake Superior, and a relatively quiet day. It will be cooler than normal, with a high in the upper 60s. Tomorrow, a fast moving low pressure system in Montana will bring us some pretty good amounts of moisture, with many areas of the Northland seeing more than an inch of rain. It will also be warmer, with a seasonal high of 74 degrees. The nice thing about tomorrow being rainy is that we’ll get it out of the way before the Labor Day holiday weekend arrives. Friday through Tuesday is looking quite sunny. It will also be pretty breezy, with mainly northwest winds hitting 25mph from Friday thru Sunday. Highs in that period will be in the 70s. We cool down significantly on Sunday, with a high of 68 degrees. Labor Day and Tuesday bring more sunshine, less wind, and highs around 70.

So, our timing works out pretty well for a holiday weekend. And while I don’t take credit for that timing, I still feel pretty good about it!
