Person Arrested Connected to Deadly Duluth Fire

DULUTH, Minn. – One person is in custody in connection to a structure fire that killed one in Duluth back on July 25, 2024
Duluth Police say they arrested a 25-year old man on Sunday, September 1, 2024. They are recommending charges of 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Arson, 2nd Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Interference with a Dead Body.
It is Fox21 policy to not name the suspect until formal charges are filed in their respected circuit court system. Those could come as early as Tuesday.
The arrest comes after Duluth Police spend the past month investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of 25-year-old Maxton Gudowski.
He was the only person found dead due to a structure fire that occurred in the 600 block of N 47th Ave E.
