Monday Morning Northland Forecast: 9/2/2024

A Perfect Labor Day!

If I were writing a movie script about the most perfect holiday weather forecast imaginable, I could not think of a day any different from today in the Northland. We have the best weather in the nation, right here, right now. I hope everybody appreciates it!

A week ago today, it was 90 degrees here, with dewpoints in the mid 70s. It was uncomfortable, to be polite, and intolerable, to be more realistic. Today, we have a high pressure area from the northwest dominating our weather. A much more preferable situation than 7 days ago. The average high for today is 72 degrees. We will top that by 1 degree, along with low dewpoints, and light and variable winds. Perfect. Tomorrow will be very similar, just a little warmer, aided by stronger southwest winds. Wednesday we will shoot for the upper 70s, along with brisk southwest winds. That will set the stage for a low pressure system to pass through the area, bringing with it a chance for showers late Wednesday night, into Thursday morning. Rain amounts will be light, about a half inch or less. Behind that system, much cooler air from Canada comes across the border. The highs Friday and Saturday will only be in the upper 50s to the low 60s. Autumn doesn’t arrive til September 22nd, but it will feel like it’s on the way, come this weekend. And with this being the first Sunday of the NFL regular season, it’s just another indication that summer is winding down fast now.

So, enjoy today and tomorrow. These kind of days are dwindling in number, as we have crossed into the months that all end with “BER.”
