St. Scholastica’s $17M Student Center Opens

DULUTH, Minn. — A longtime dream has become a reality for the St. Scholastica community.

On Tuesday, school officials, trustees, students and alumni gathered for the ribbon cutting of a new student center. The building is a culmination of years of fundraising and planning to ensure this center will serve the needs of students.

“The student center is the dream of past generations of Saints who wanted to give a gift just to the students,” said Maddy Ploof, CSS Student Body President. “We’re here today just to celebrate the accomplishment that it’s, and of having this totally new building that’s fully functional to meet students’ needs.”

The student center is part of building projects meant modernize the Duluth campus. With a price tag of just under $17 million, the construction was completed on time and on budget, according to school officials.
