Tuesday Morning Northland Forecast: 9/3/2024
It's Still Summer!
When summer begins to end, it seems like it does it so quickly! We turn the calendar page from August to September. The kids all head back to school. The NFL season begins this weekend. And, we can sure tell the days are getting shorter. There is no stopping it. Autumn is approaching, fast! But, it’s not here just yet. Not until the 22nd of the month. And, in the Northland, it will still feel quite summer-like, at least for a couple more days.
Once again, a dome of high pressure has brought us many days of sunshine and warmth. But now, a low coming out of Montana will urge the high to move east, and replace our sunshine with a good chance for rain, late tomorrow night. Not exactly a monsoon, but a pretty easy quarter to a half inch of rain. It should arrive late Wednesday night, and be out of here by late morning on Thursday. Behind that, we will feel much cooler temps. After a high of 78 on Wednesday, highs the next three days will be 70, 60 and 60. And the lows will flirt with 40 degrees both Friday and Saturday mornings. That will get your attention, and get you to find that favorite football jacket you haven’t worn since last season. Our high temps will rebound back to 70 by Monday. The normal high for today is still 72. So, we haven’t quite gone off the deep end yet, as far as daytime highs. But the shorter days are letting us know that our warm, summertime fun is about to transition to an inevitable fall cooldown. We all knew it was coming.
So, soak in the sunshine and warmth the next couple days. It’s going to be a long wait for summer 2025 to arrive!
