Friday Morning Northland Forecast: 9/6/2024
Frost Advisory Forecast
The weather is rarely boring up here in the Northland. A week ago Monday, we had a near-record high temp of 90 degrees. Next week, we will have highs near 80 all week. But, tomorrow morning, we have a Frost Advisory for pretty much the whole TV viewing area. It is actually in effect from 11pm tonight til 8am Saturday morning. Areas farther away from the Lake are more likely to have frost, than those of us near Duluth. The Iron Range in particular could see some widespread frost. So, bring in or cover the sensitive plants. You know the drill!
This little blast of cold air will be short-lived. The normal high for today is 71. We are shooting for sunny skies and a high of only 62 today. Tonight, we will cool down to 40 near Duluth, with much colder temps farther out. Saturday will have plenty of sun, and a high of 66. Sunday sees a warm front gliding over us from South Dakota, and we will jump up to 76 for a high. More high pressure is in charge of things for pretty much all of next week, and we will see plenty of sunshine, with highs going from the upper 70s on Monday to right around 80 for the rest of the week. And, it is a dominant high pressure dome, as at this point, there is no mention of rain in the forecast for all of next week.
The first day of Autumn is still lurking in the future, and due to arrive on September 22nd. So, just appreciate this fine weather for what it is, and smile. Because a month from now, I’m quite sure the forecast will look a lot cooler! Have a great weekend!
