UMD Held an Educational AI Forum for Students and Faculty

The University of Minnesota Duluth held an AI forum to address the positives and negatives of artificial intelligence.

Duluth, Minn.–  The University of Minnesota Duluth held an artificial intelligence forum to address the positives and negatives of AI.

The forum highlighted UMD’s new Generative AI tools policy for the school year while looking to teach students, staff, and faculty how AI should be used properly in the workplace and in college. One of the points highlighted at the forum dealt with AI ethics and how the community can use AI ethically. UMD looks to give students a space to learn more about this evolving technology.

“ We really would like universities to be a place students can explore and learn about the society and the world around them, including this new and influential technology. So it seems like we want space at UMD for students to be able to learn how to use it responsibly and thoughtfully and appropriately to different fields,” said Alexis Elder a associate professor of philosophy at UMD.

If you missed the AI forum you can find more information about UMD’s AI policy on their website.
