Duluth Community Members Hear From Local Business Owner
DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth community members had the chance to hear from a local business owner all about his experience.
This is all part of the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce Connect @ Clyde events. The featured speaker was Derek Medved, owner and operator of 9 KornerStores in the Northland area. He spoke about his journey with starting his first job at age 14 and eventually purchasing his first store in 2015.
When asked what advice Medved has for future business owners this is what he said.
“I gave a high school graduation speech, and the speech was titled, ‘Never Give a Dream a Deadline.’ A dream structured with patience, determination and hope is a dream worth waiting for. And so, I think it’s the perfect format to say, ‘hey never stop dreaming and don’t give it a timeline.’ Because it just might happen today, tomorrow, next week or in 5 years but never lose sight of that dream and keep working hard,” said Medved.
The Connect @ Clyde events focus on bringing Duluth community members together to network.
