Ely Under Boil Water Advisory Following Water Outage
ELY, Minn. — The City of Ely has restored water service following a watermain break, but remains under a Boil Water Advisory, urging residents to boil or use bottled water for all consumption and food preparation until further notice.
As of 12:30 AM, city officials report that water service has been restored following recent disruptions.
City crews are actively flushing fire hydrants, which may result in temporary air pockets in household water lines.
Despite the restoration, the city remains under a Boil Water Advisory. Residents are advised to boil all water before use, or use bottled water.
The advisory extends to all uses of water, including drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
The City of Ely will conduct water quality testing and provide updates on when the advisory will be lifted.
