Furry New Addition Joins Superior Police Department
SUPERIOR, Wis. — A furry new addition has been made to the Superior Police Department.
Meet K9 Millie, a labradoodle puppy. This newest trainee is assigned to Community Service Officer Jen Stank. Who has been working with Millie to serve as a support system for individuals experiencing crises or troubled times. The announcement was made Wednesday at Bryant Elementary School. 2nd graders were surprised with the therapy dog. The school’s principal is excited for this new opportunity.
“They adore their owners; they adore the people especially these trained dogs that are great with individuals and therapy. They’re just mean to brighten somebody’s day. Maybe a lick on the face or just kind of a snuggle with some pet fur up against you. It’s a very nice calming tool,” said Jason Kalin, Principal at Bryant Elementary School.
The police department believes the addition of Millie will help enhance the department’s capabilities.
