Single Vehicle Crash in Mahtowa Township, Alcohol a Possible Factor

MAHTOWA TOWNSHIP, Minn. — One man is injured after a vehicle crash in Mahtowa Township.

The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office says on Tuesday at 4:51 p.m. a single vehicle crash was reported near the intersection of County Road 61 and Painted Lane.

Authorities say a Ford Ranger left the roadway and crashed into the ditch. A 37-year-old man was found lying on the ground by the pickup.

Through investigation it was found the driver was going north on County Road 61 before leaving the roadway. No one else was in the vehicle with him.

The man was brought to a local hospital for injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor. This remains an active investigation.
