Last Weekend of Summer

It really has been a nice long summer. Plenty of warm days, and lots of hot days! Nobody could complain that we got a short, cool or wet summer. In fact, just the opposite. We would have liked to have more rain! We are more than an inch short of precip for the year, and more than 2″ short for the month of September. I don’t see us making that up in the next 9 days. I’d be pleased if we made up half of that deficit.

The autumnal equinox arrives this Sunday at 7:43 am. Since the NFL football season is already in it’s third week, it has seemed like fall for a while now. But, on Sunday, it will officially be here! I mean, I’ve been seeing Halloween candy at stores for two weeks already, so it’s about time to turn the page. This last weekend of summer will be a quiet and peaceful one. We look to have mostly sunny skies both days, with a 30% chance for light rain on Saturday. The high on Saturday will be about 77, and the high on Sunday will be a lot cooler, at 66. Which is also the average high temp for this time of year. Perfect! Next week, we will be in the 60s for highs, and the upper 40s for lows, so we are back where we belong. It will warm up a little bit late next week, as we head back to the 70 degree mark by Thursday.

Enjoy the last full day of Summer. It’s going to be awhile before it’s back!
