Wild State Cider Seeking Apple Donations

DULUTH, Minn. — Wild State Cider is asking community members for apple donations from their very own apple trees.

This is all for their 2024 People’s Cider. The business is currently short on apples and has only received enough fruit to make 2 kegs of cider. People can donate any types of apples as long as they are intact Pears and plums even work. Those that donate will get a free crowler of the finished cider. This is Wild State’s 4th year making this drink.

“So, every year the flavor changes. And especially depends on what apples that we get. We even like to get crab apples sometimes cause it adds a little bit more to the complexity and the tannins from the crab apples makes it a little more tart and a little tangy. But yeah, this year we’re a little short on all of them,” said Tom Fondow, Taproom Operations Coordinator.

The deadline to bring apples in is October 4th just before their annual Friend’s Fest celebration. Wild State Cider is located on West Superior Street in the Lincoln Park Craft District.
