Warm Weekend On The Way
It’s the last weekend of September. We are too hot, and we are too dry. Aside from that, it’s been a beautiful week of weather! Each day has been warm, and filled with abundant amounts of sunshine. What’s not to like? But, our average high for today is 62, and we topped out at 84, setting a new high temp record for the date. And, we are almost 3″ short of normal rainfall for the month. I know it will cool down starting on Sunday. But, the precip? That’s a bigger mystery.
We will have a high near 80 on Saturday. About 70 on Sunday. And by Tuesday, our high will be about 60. I like that movement. But, looking a week into the future, there is no obvious precipitation on the way. We need a kink in the jetstream, otherwise known as a trough to set up to our west. We could then tap into some Gulf of Mexico moisture, and a low level jet from West Texas, and that might be the ticket for getting a decent amount of rain up here. Either that, or a quick moving Alberta Clipper from our northwest. That would not be as much rain, but it might bring a quick half inch. Anyway, that’s the kind of stuff meteorologists think about, when they’re hoping for rain….from somewhere!
Have a great last weekend of September, and enjoy the cool Canadian high pressure on Sunday!
