Shooter in deadly 2022 Duluth shooting learns his sentence

DULUTH, Minn. – A 19-year-old Duluth man has been sentenced to 27.5 years in prison today.

Corey Devon Young was sentenced for the July 2022 shooting of 17-year-old Xzavier Aubid-St. Clair near East 1st St in Duluth.

When police reviewed security cameras in the area, they “showed the Defendant and Victim talking back and forth when the Defendant pulls out a firearm and shoots the Victim in the face. The Victim immediately falls to the ground.”

A jury found Young guilty of Second-Degree Intentional Murder back in June of this year. He’s been remanded to the Minnesota Correctional facility in St. Cloud.
