DULUTH, Minn. — A pair of critically endangered animals have been born at the Lake Superior Zoo.

The cotton-top tamarin twins were born on Sept. 15.

These types of monkeys live in close-knit family groups and are joined by 2 siblings, along with their mom Mira and dad Deno.

Cotton-tops are protected under the Species Survival Plan and there are about 215 in AZA accredited facilities worldwide.

The babies are available for viewing daily from noon to 2 p.m. in the Primate Conservation Center at the zoo in Duluth.
