CSS Football Hopes to Celebrate Homecoming By Getting Back to .500 Mark
St. Scholastica split with Macalester in the 2023 season.
DULUTH, Minn.- The St. Scholastica Saints return home this Saturday to continue conference play with a bout against Macalester.
The Saints were able to get to know the Scots quite a bit last season as the two teams met twice.
Scholastica picked up their first-ever win against Macalester on September 30th, 23 to 17.
But then the Scots returned the favor with a 40 to 20 victory on November 11th.
Head Coach Mike Heffernan says the biggest challenge on Saturday is that they don’t make blunders that will cost themselves.
“The most important thing is we recognize that they’re a good football team. We respect all and fear none. But, they’re really well coached, those guys work as hard as we do and their players work just as hard as we do. It’s going to come down to us and it’s going to come down to controlling our controllables, making sure that we avoid too many mistakes that are self inflicted,” said Heffernan.
St. Scholastica kicks things off with Macalester at 1 PM on Saturday at Walt Hunting Stadium.
