Saturday Rain May Be On The Way

It’s pretty hard to complain about the weather we have had for the last couple months. For the most part, sunny, warm and a little dry. Yeah, that’s the only negative. If we could’ve sprinkled in an inch of rain about once a week, it would have been perfect! And, that’s why I’m at least cautiously optimistic about tomorrow.

After a cool start this morning, today is going to be just fine, with high pressure producing another day of sunshine, highs in the mid 60s and southwest winds that will be a little gusty this afternoon. The next low pressure system coming to visit us is currently in western Montana, and that is what is going to bring us about a 50% chance of precipitation on Saturday. The day will begin with abundant sunshine, and clouds will increase in the afternoon. As the eastward moving cold front approaches, we will see an increase in clouds after lunchtime, with the chances for rain increasing as we go through the afternoon. The best chance for rain will be from about 3pm to 7pm. Again, it’s about a 50/50 chance that we see some rain, and it doesn’t look like a huge amount. It could be anywhere from a tenth of an inch to a half inch at most. The computer models show some areas up the north shore getting more than an inch, but I’ll believe that after I see it. I would be thrilled if we all see a quarter inch of rain tomorrow.

Behind the cold front, Sunday will be sunny, windy and cooler, with NW winds up to 30 mph, and a cooler high of about 57 degrees. And, into next week, it’s more fun in the sun, with highs in the 60s. So, have a great weekend, and do a little rain dance for some precip on Saturday!
