2nd Annual Ralph Zauhar’s Vocational Fair
ALBORN, Minn.– Middle schoolers had the opportunity to learn over 16 different vocational job skills
From welding, equestrian skills, to even learning how to drive an excavator.
Students from Queen of Peace and homeschooled kids got to experience some hands-on learning for potential career paths and opportunities.
They’re able to pick up on skills they otherwise wouldn’t be able to learn right away. Some of the activities these kids got to be involved with are baking and canning, a petting zoo, as well as firefighting. There are trained professionals right alongside the kids. One of the kids shared with Fox 21 some insight on his experience. And he said this is a great way to get out of your comfort zone.
“It makes me happy because I know some of my classmates are a little more shy. And they don’t get out as much as me. And I feel like I’ve gotten more social and less scared of feeding animals from my hand,” said Aleksander Fosness.
The vocational fair has happened for two years now. And they’re hoping to impact students for years to come.
