South Ridge School All Clear After Bomb Threat, Suspect is a Juvenile

UPDATE (October 7, 3:15 p.m.) — School officials say the school is now clear after a search took place for a bomb.

Superintendent Reggie Engebritson told Fox 21 law enforcement did find the suspect who made the call. It is a juvenile from a different part of the state with no connection to anyone at the school.

Law enforcement is planning to press charges.

The school will resume evening activities Monday night and have classes back to usual on Tuesday.

CULVER, Minn. — South Ridge School in Culver sent students home on Monday due to a bomb threat.

The school posted to their Facebook page around 7:45 a.m. that the school is closing, and they would be sending students back on the bus immediately.

A message sent to families says the school received an anonymous message saying someone was going to bomb the school. The school notified law enforcement and made the decision to close the school.

The building will remain closed until the school is checked by law enforcement and is safe.

Due to a threat to the school, we are closing school today. We will be sending students back on the bus immediately. Any students not being able to be dropped off at home will be picked up at the Alborn community center. More information to follow very soon. Thanks for your understanding.
