ESKO, Minn.- Esko native and Minnesota freshman safety Koi Perich was recognized for his efforts in Saturday’s upset win over 11th ranked USC.
On Tuesday, Perich was named the Shaun Alexander Freshman Player of the Week.
Perich had the game-winning interception plus six tackles and a forced fumble in the contest.
Number three also landed on the Paul Hornung Award honor roll, which is presented to the Most Versatile Player in Major College Football.
Perich and Minnesota are at UCLA on Saturday.
