NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll: UMD Men’s Hoops Picked to Finish, Women Slated 8th
Both the men's and women's teams will begin their seasons with exhibition games in the coming weeks.
DULUTH, Minn.- The NSIC preseason coaches poll was released on Thursday morning.
On the men’s side, the UMD Bulldogs come in at number three after a 26-7 season last year, which resulted in another NCAA tournament berth.
One player was also recognized, that being forward Charlie Katona, who was named to the Player to Watch List.
Katona averaged 13 points and 5 rebounds for the Bulldogs a year ago.
UMD begins their year with an exhibition at Iowa on October 25th.
As for the women, they’re slated to finish 8th after a 19-10 campaign in the 2023-2024 season.
The Bulldogs received 119 points in the coaches poll to receive that mark.
Like the men’s team, the women’s team with also one member on the player to watch list.
Junior guard Myra Moorjani looks to have another big season after totaling 181 points last year.
UMD hosts Lakehead University on October 18th.
