SUPERIOR, Wis. — People packed the auditorium at Superior High School as U.S Senator and former Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders took to the stage.

The Senator is campaigning for the Democratic party’s presidential ticket in battleground states.

Sanders encouraged Wisconsin voters to support Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz in the upcoming election.

In his speech, Sanders stated Wisconsin is “up for grabs,” as the state has recently had tight margins.

The Senator also said it’s vital to have a good rural voter turnout.

“I am the senator from Vermont and we are probably the most rural state in America. So I love rural communities and I think to often rural America is forgotten about, you know. People go to the big cities, that’s where the votes are, but I love going to rural communities and that’s what I am doing on this trip,” Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said.

Sanders will also stop in Baraboo, Wisconsin to campaign for Harris and Walz.
