Monday Morning Northland Forecast: 10/14/2024

Feels Like Autumn

It felt cool leaving the house at 4:20 this morning. 34 degrees to be precise. And, tomorrow morning, it will be even cooler, at about 28 degrees. It definitely feels more like Fall now. And yesterday, Finland, MN had some light snow. Enough to at least cover some of the grass. That’s the first snow I’ve seen in Minnesota, so far this season. It will be cold enough that flurries will be possible in Duluth overnight tonight. It still gets your attention the first time it happens every year. Just like when we were kids!

The low pressure system that passed over our area over the weekend brought some much-needed moisture to most of us. In Duluth, only about .14″ of rain. But parts of the Iron Range got about .75″, and northern Wisconsin saw .84″ near Ashland. Almost everyone in the Northland got a little bit of rain over the weekend. It was fun just to see some puddles, for the first time in about three months. We have a chance for a little more rain this afternoon, maybe another .25″. We’ll take it. After that, it’s nothing but high pressure and sunshine for the rest of the workweek. Our next chance for rain will have to wait until Saturday.

The next couple mornings will be chilly, with lows in the upper 20s. But then, we’ll have a nice rebound in temps, as our highs will be in the 60s Thursday thru Sunday. Overall, we have a pretty easy week ahead of us. Definitely more fall-like than last week. Perfect timing. Have a great Monday!
