GND Recreation Center to Host Fall Rummage Sale

DULUTH, Minn. — Starting Thursday, Oct. 17, the Gary New Duluth Recreation Center will be hosting its annual fall rummage sale.

The rec center hosts two rummage sales a year, one in the spring and one in the fall.

The sales started as a way to raise money for the community, including the now completed skate park.

You can get various items at the rummage sale, from clothing to kids toys. You can even fill up a bag of your favorite finds for only $7.

“We had it at the old fire hall and we were begging people just to come in and shop, but it took off,” said Kisty Haller, board member of the GND Development Alliance. “Once this building opened up, this actual building, the community just got on board. It’s wonderful, they are so great, they know that there is two sales a year.”

The Gary New Duluth Developmental Alliance estimates around $15,000 has been raised over the nine years of sales.

Sale begins: Thursday, Oct 17. 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
Friday, Oct 18. 8 a.m. -5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct 19. 8 a.m. -5 p.m.
