Northern Lights Foundation Hosts Annual Children’s Charity Gala
DULUTH, Minn. — Local children facing life-threatening illnesses was the focus of a children’s charity gala in Duluth.
The Northern Lights Foundation hosted the event at the DECC. More than 100 silent auction items were on display including everything from concert tickets to see Justin Timberlake, to a weekend getaway to Lake Tahoe.
The Northern Lights Foundation is a Duluth non-profit focused on providing financial support to local families who have children dealing with illnesses like cancer.
“A lot of people ask me why, why I did it. And I start the foundation in 2006, and it was many years after we lost a newborn back in the early 90’s. So, that’s kind of my why, so that’s been my mission to reach out and help other people. So, it’s been wonderful to see the community grow behind that,” said Dr. Ken Larson, Founder of the Northern Lights Foundation.
Over the past decade the Northern Lights Foundation has made grants to hundreds of Northland families and continues to grow.
