Cloquet Carlton County Airport Receives Federal Funding
CLOQUET, Minn.– Federal funding is coming to the Carlton County Cloquet Airport for infrastructure improvements.
The $241,149 grant will build a new hangar for aircraft storage. The new storage is 11,500 square feet.
US Senator Amy Klobuchar visited the airport today and got a tour of the facilities.
She expressed importance with aviation, and making sure airports have adequate funding to keep things running.
“Bill runs this, and trained just this last year, 350 pilots. They’ve grown from a really small space, to they need even more hangars. And we’re going to work with them on a new runway that will be helpful for them,” said Senator Amy Klobuchar.
The funding is from the Airport Improvement Program.
Which not only helps build new runways but also goes towards taxiways, signage, and lighting.
