Thursday Morning Northland Forecast: 10/24/2024
More Rain Tonight!
Since we are 4 inches below normal precipitation, I am pleased to see rain, snow, sleet or hail in any amount! While we have yet to see the fluffy, white stuff yet (except in Finland, MN), we will all watch for a very good chance for rain to fall after dinner time tonight. The models are indicating the best chance for rain is from about 6pm to 10pm this evening. It won’t be a big rainfall, maybe .10″ to .25″. After tonight, high pressure will move in, and will take us all the way through the weekend. Temps will be mild too. Our average high for today is 49 degrees. We will reach a high of about 59 today. Then, we will cool down to 52 tomorrow, with the passage of the cold front that will bring us our rain chance tonight.
The weekend will be 3 things: Sunny, windy and mild. The transition from summer to winter generally comes along with a very windy autumn, as the jet stream moves back down from the north to the south. So, it’s not surprising that we will feel NW winds up to 30mph on Friday into Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a wind shift to the south, which will boost our high temps to the upper 50s on Sunday. Monday, the strong south winds will bring us up to the mid 60s, before the next cold front coming along will bring us a chance for rain on Tuesday, along with cooler temps. Our high on Wednesday looks to only be in the upper 40s. Which again, is right about where we should be, at that point.
A week from tonight is Halloween. It would be great to have mild weather like this, next Thursday night. Do you think we will get a weather trick, or a treat? We’ll find out!
Have a great Thursday!
