Esko Girls Soccer Looks to Knock Off Unbeaten Southwest Christian in State Semifinals
Southwest Christian is currently 18-0-1 and have picked up shutouts in 13 of those games.
ESKO, Minn.- The Esko girls soccer team is making their final preparations leading up to Tuesday’s state semifinal contest against Southwest Christian.
Esko will look to do something that no other team has done this season and that’s defeat the Stars.
Southwest Christian is currently 18-0-1 and have picked up shutouts in 13 of those games.
Before the tournament began, head coach Sharon Lahti said there was three key areas that the team focused on: physical, tactical, and emotional.
“There’s that component of emotional and psychological component to any athletic competition. If we’re preparing in any of these areas, we’re still going to have the butterflies but we should be able to rely on what we know and what’s familiar to help us through,” said Lahti.
Gametime is set for 5 PM at U.S. Bank Stadium.
