Tuesday Morning Northland Forecast: 10/29/2024
Rain, Snow and Wind on the Way
If you are tired of the sun being in your eyes all the time, you will love the next few days! Today will still be mild, with highs in the low 60s, under mostly cloudy skies. The average high for today is 46. The record high for today is 74. We will have mostly cloudy skies, with east winds off the lake today, 10-15mph. The chance for rain improves to 50% overnight, with a low of 45, and winds off the lake increasing to 10-15mph. Tomorrow becomes kind of a mess. A low pressure system will drag two cold fronts behind it, bringing falling temps, and an 80% chance for both rain and light snow. The daytime high on Wednesday will be about 48 degrees, and the winds will turn to the north, and increase to 15-25mph. It will definitely feel kind of raw on Wednesday afternoon.
Halloween Thursday doesn’t get much better. Another day of clouds, strong north winds, with an 80% chance of a rain/snow mix. It doesn’t look like much, if any accumulation of snow, but it will just be windy, wet and cold. Suddenly trick-or-treating looks like more of a trick than a treat. Much of the precip may be done by the time the kids head out to get their candy on Thursday afternoon, but it may still be wet out, and it most certainly will be both chilly and breezy. I think the parents and kids might call it a night a little earlier in the evening, this year.
Things improve quickly on Friday, with mostly sunny skies, light winds, and a high of 44, which will be just about average for the date. The weekend looks a little bit warmer, with highs into the lower 50s, and partly sunny skies and slight chance for rain on Sunday. Heading back to work on Monday, there’s another chance for rain, with a high in the upper 40s.
Enjoy the 60s today. Not many days like this left!
