Late Score Lifts Deer River Football Past Mille Lacs for Section 7A Crown
This is the 16th time in program history that Deer River has advanced to state.
CLOQUET, Minn.- After a one year hiatus, the Deer River Football team is heading back to the state tournament.
On Friday, the Warriors defeated Mille Lacs 8 to 6 for the Section 7A title.
Deer River scored with 38 seconds left in the game and went for two to take the eventual win.
This is the 16th time in program history that the team has advanced to state.
The Warriors will hear who their state opponent is in the coming days.
