Wednesday Morning Northland Forecast: 11/6/2024

Sunshine Returns

After two very grey days with some much needed rain, it’s finally time for sunshine to reappear! We got measurable rainfall both Monday and Tuesday, and after some morning fog, we are going to have mostly sunny skies from Wednesday through most of Saturday. The next chance for rain will be late on Saturday, and for most of the day on Sunday. And any precipitation we get in the next several days will still be rain, not snow, as temps will be enough above average to keep our precip wet, not white. The average high and low for today is 42 and 27. Today’s high temp will be 46, and our highs for the next week will be between 46 and 50 degrees.

Of course, the biggest change we’ve had to get used to, is how early the sun sets in the afternoon. Our sunset today is at 4:45pm, with our sunrise at 6:59am. And, the days will keep getting shorter until December 21st, when we will barely have 9 hours of daylight. That really does take some adjustment. By 7pm, you feel like it’s midnight, and time to go to bed! So enjoy the sunshine we will have over the next several days. And join me in waiting for the first big snowstorm of the year. It’ll get here, soon enough!
