Duluth Police Arrest Suspect Involved in 3 Random Home Invasions

UPDATE (November 7, 3:30 p.m.) — Duluth Police announced they have arrested the suspect in connection to the 3 burglaries.

Authorities say the suspect was arrested at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.

UPDATE (November 7, 10:38 a.m.) — Duluth Police are investigating a third burglary in the city in the last three days. According to authorities, a white male entered a home in the 2500 block of East 2nd Street around 9:00 p.m. on November 6. The resident of the home fled the scene but fell during the escape, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect remains at large.

ORIGINAL 11/6: The Duluth Police Department is investigating two random home invasions within two days.

The first one happened Nov. 4 in the 200 block of West Kent Road. The second happened Nov. 5 in the area of 1500 Vermilion Road. Authorities said both occurred between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Police said, after initial investigation, the suspect is described as a white man who entered both residences and made threats to those inside.

In all, three victims inside the homes were hospitalized for injuries that are not life-threatening.  Police Chief Mike Ceynowa could not say what type of injuries or how they occurred.

The suspect was on the loose, as of Wednesday night.

Neighbors are being encouraged to check their doorbell cameras and other surveillance video to see if anyone suspicious was captured.
