Chum Preps Thanksgiving Boxes

DULUTH, Minn. — Chum is preparing for the holidays by packing Thanksgiving boxes.

Staff, volunteers, and community members gathered Thursday to work together on this project. The boxes will be given out to locals who rely on Chum’s food assistance services. Each box includes the essential items for a traditional Thanksgiving meal, from pantry staples to holiday favorites.

“Thanksgiving is so important and we just want to make sure our families are taken care of the best we can for our community. So just making sure they have all the essentials, that they have stuffing and turkey and potatoes and stuff to put on their tables for thanksgiving and just make sure that they are just fed,” said April Ledoux, Director of Distributive Services.

The boxes will be distributed in two locations. The first 100 will be handed out at Our Saviors Lutheran Church on November 25th. The other 200 will be handed out November 27th at the downtown Chum center. They will start handing boxes out at 10 a.m.
