DECC Hosts 12th Annual Junk Hunt

DULUTH, Minn.– Over 150 vendors are gathering at the DECC to sell their antiques, treats and trinkets.

The event draws in junk hunters near and far.

With some of the booths selling heavy furniture, the junk hunt has their team of “junk hunks” in orange shirts to help load those items.

“We started with like half a dozen vendors back in 2012. And now we’re up to 150 booths. And yeah, it kind of grows every time. It’s great, we get a lot of returning vendors, we get a lot of new vendors that kind of hear about us,” said Emily Broman, the Junk Hunt organizer.

For one of those vendors, he’s been with the Junk Hunt since the very beginning.

“It’s really grown over the years. We used to be at The Encounter many years ago, to the Heritage Center, to here now. So, a lot of the customers have come with us year to year. They often bring pictures of what they purchased last year and how they use the item,” said Todd Vittorli, a vendor at the Junk Hunt.

The Junk Hunt started Friday morning and will continue until Saturday at 4 PM.

General Admission Tickets are $7, with some of the proceeds going towards Second Harvest Northland.
