State Volleyball: Ely & Hermantown Eliminated in Consolation Semifinals

The Timberwolves and Hawks were the last remaining Northland teams in the tournament.

ST. PAUL, Minn.- The Ely volleyball team looked to extend their season on Friday against New Life Academy in the Class A consolation semifinals.

After taking the first two sets, the Timberwolves saw their lead slip away as they fell in five sets.

Ely finishes the season with a record of 28-5.

In other state volleyball action, Hermantown saw their season come to a close as they fell to Mahtomedi 3-0 in the AAA consolation semifinals.

The Hawks finish the year with a 23-7 record.
