UMD Men’s Hockey Continues Conference Slate with Trip to Miami (OH)

UMD holds a 6-2-2 record in their last 10 meetings with Miami.

DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD men’s hockey team will hit the road for the 2nd time this season when they travel to play Miami of Ohio this weekend.

The Bulldogs are eager to get back on track as they dropped both games to 10th ranked North Dakota to go to 3-6 on the year.

And if history holds, UMD has a good chance of doing so as they are 6-2-2 in their last 10 meetings with the Redhawks.

Head Coach Scott Sandelin says he’s not hitting the panic button just yet, citing the 2017-2018 season as a good reminder of how a team can turn things around.

“You look at the positives. You look at the negatives and you look at things you can get better at, things you’re doing well. That’s the process we go through. Everybody else looks at your record and all that stuff. I can remember in 2017 we were sitting here at 3-7 in the league at Christmas and we won a national championship. So you don’t know,” said Sandelin.

UMD could see the return of Dominic James, Jack Smith, and Max Plante as Sandelin said all are probable for the series.

Puck drop for game one is Friday at 6:05 PM.
