College Hockey: UWS Sneaks By Scholastica Men, Scholastica Women Drop OT Contest to St. Ben’s
All teams will return to the ice on Saturday.
DULUTH, Minn.- Both the St. Scholastica men’s and women’s hockey teams were on their home ice on Friday.
The men’s team welcomed in their rivals from across the bridge in UW-Superior.
Tied at 1-1 late in the period, UWS scored the go-ahead goal with 1:04 left in the contest for the 2-1 victory.
UWS improves to 2-0-1 and will play at Bethel on Saturday.
CSS (1-3-1) will stay at home on Saturday to host Northland.
As for the women’s team, they played St. Benedict’s tough but evenutally fell to the Bennies 2 to 1 in overtime.
Hanley Block had the lone goal for the Saints.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
