36th Annual Festival of Trees Shines Brightly At the DECC
DULUTH, Minn. – The DECC opened its doors to a good cause this past weekend, and provided a preview of the upcoming Christmas holiday season.
They hosted the 36th annual Festival of Trees. Vendors sold treats, trinkets, and even got a visit from Santa!
Proceeds from this event go towards the Junior League’s efforts to support women in the Northland.
“Our main mission is to develop women,” says Lauren Farden, President of the Junior League of Duluth, “and have them develop leadership skills and organizational skills, community-building, anything to get them to not only advance their careers, but also their personal lives, and then have the opportunity to just meet and greet other women and develop relationships that impact the community”
Farden adds the Junior League also teams up with various organizations that also do good throughout the Northland. “We try to rotate with different partners that we’ve done different things for throughout the past couple of years, whether that’s community grants that we’ve given, or even just opportunities to do like little drives for, whether its fundraising, or like a food drive, or hygiene, that kind of thing.”
