The Duluth Marshall boys basketball team is coming off a bounce back season in which they turned a 4-23 record into a 15-13 record.
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Marshall boys basketball team is coming off a bounce back season in which they turned a 4-23 record into a 15-13 record.
And with most of their core returning, including seniors Brooks Johnson and Josh Johnson, the Hilltoppers are going to be in the mix for the Section 7 AA title.
Head Coach Cam Berger said he knew when he took the job a few years ago that this could be a big season for his squad.
“Since I first got here, I’ve just been preaching that this is the year. We think we have enough talent, enough leadership and enough guys to get the job done and get down to the state tournament,” said Berger.
“We have a lot of energy. We’re really passionate about the team right now. We think we can go a long way and I think it shows with how much we’re bringing right now. It’s just the first day and people are putting in a ton of effort,” added forward Josh Johnson.
The Hilltoppers open the regular season on December 5th at home against Two Harbors.
