Thursday Morning Northland Forecast: 11/21/2024

Happy Thursday morning, Northland! Yesterday, a lot of us got to see a little bit of snow, as scattered snow showers persisted into the evening hours. For some of us that saw decent snowfall from these showers, it even stuck onto certain surfaces. Even though it wasn’t much, seeing some snow is always exciting, especially early in the season!

Looking at today, the clouds will continue to linger throughout the day. For parts of Northwest Wisconsin, there is a chance for snow early in the day, especially for parts of Iron County and Ashland County. Moving later into the day, the snow will transition into rain with the warming temperatures. It will also be a windy one today, with sustained winds out of the northwest of 20-30 mph and gusts of over 40 mph possible. There have been wind advisories issued along the North Shore and gale warnings for Lake Superior due to the winds that we will see today. Temperature wise, it will pretty mild, with today’s high of 42 and an overnight low of 34.

Tomorrow, any remaining precipitation will make its way out towards the east, and the winds will subside a bit. The sun will also start to peak out, as though the clouds will continue to persist, they will likely break up a bit early in the day. Overall, it will be a relatively pleasant Friday, with a high of 39 and an overnight low of 26.

Looking out further into the future, the temperatures will decline as we move into the weekend and next week, making the temperatures more seasonably average and even below average at times. Expect to see highs in the low 30’s and into the 20’s as next week for some days. There is also a chance for a little bit of snow Sunday as a clipper makes its way through, with those of us further north close to the Canadian border and in the South Shore snowbelt having the greatest chance for seeing some snowfall. I hope you have a fantastic Thursday morning, Northland!
