Chester Bowl Announces New Donation Match Opportunity For Chalet Renovations

DULUTH, Minn. — Chester Bowl has announced a donation match opportunity to help with the expansion and renovation of their Chalet.

It’s part of the campaign Growing Up Chester. An anonymous donor who is looking to inspire giving in others, will now through January 15, 2025, match up to $50,000. That gives Chester 50 days to raise $50,000 through community donations. This means any donations until then are effectively doubled.

“This season of gratitude has all of us at Chester Bowl thinking of how appreciative we are of the Chester Bowl community, the Twin Ports community, our relationship with the City of Duluth and the parks and rec department, and everyone that comes together to make a project like this possible. We are one final fundraising push away from turning this vision into reality and a building we can actually be in. Meeting this donation match challenge will help us get closer to that funding finish line giving Chester Bowl and the City of Duluth a chalet that will serve the community for generations to come,” said Dave Schaeffer, Chester Bowl Executive Director.

Currently the entire project sits at 85% funded. Growing Up Chester needs to raise another $600,000 to start the renovations. They are hoping to get legislative approval to start the project over the next year.
