A Cold, Snowy and Windy Week

Today (Sunday) is December 1st. Did you change your calendar yet? We continue to have January temperatures about a month early. The normal high and low for today is 30 and 15. We had 19 and 6. So, yes! It was a cold day! The colder than average temps are here early, but the snowfall continues to lag behind what we should have.

As we go through this first full week of December, we will see temps rise a little, although we won’t be close to average til Wednesday. And then temps will immediately go down below average from Thursday thru Saturday. Keep dressing in layers. We do have a chance for snow Tuesday and Friday this week. Tuesday might bring us 1-2″ of snow (wimpy), and Friday will likely bring us less than an inch. Yeah, kids would like to see a lot more. So would the folks who sell snowmobiles for a living. That’s just not in the cards for this week.

We continue to have a Winter Weather Advisory for folks who live near the Wisconsin/Michigan border, and also areas farther east in the U.P. Look for an additional 3-6″ of snow there through Monday. They have had a very snowy weekend, and will definitely have a very white Christmas!

The one thing we are destined to have this week are very windy days. The direction the winds come from will change, but the speeds will stay strong, in the 20-35mph range. Pesky winds….I’d rather have the snow!

Have a great week, and change your calendar!
