Mirage Taking Each Game as a Learning Opportunity in 2024-2025 Season
Proctor/Hermantown is 8-3 so far this season.
HERMANTOWN, Minn.- The Proctor/Hermantown Mirage already have 11 games under their belts this season.
And what a start it has been as the team has picked up eight wins, five of which have come in shutout fashion.
The Mirage also had a six-game winning streak that recently ended this past Saturday.
Head Coach Emma Stauber says she’s seen growth from her team over the course of the season and added that the team learns from every result, no matter what happens.
“We’re really proud of the strides that we’ve made from the beginning of the season. We’ve had a tough schedule already so far. But, last week was a little bit of a grind, three away games ended with Orono, that didn’t go so well for us. But, it was an opportunity for us to learn and I think that’s what we’re focusing on as coaches is just pulling out those moments in each of the games, whether we win or lose them and put those into practice so we can continue to get better,” said Stauber.
Senior forward Jane Eckstrom is one of the key returners leading the Mirage this year. She praised the team’s camraderie as a key reason for the team’s success.
“Team morale is definitely a big one. So team building, just coming closer as a team, making sure we work together is a big part of that. But also working on the smaller things so we can just all work on our individual talent and hopefully that will come together in the end,” said Eckstrom.
We’ll have much more on Eckstrom and the Mirage in this week’s Northern Star. That airs on Wednesday night at 9 PM.
