Outdoor North Opens in Superior

SUPERIOR, Wis.– Superior has welcomed a new one stop shop that caters to all things outdoors.

And the staff is eager to spread the love for these hobbies.

From the time Erik Howard was three years old he was involved with all things skiing.

His mission is to spread that love to Superior and get people more involved with outdoor sports.

Outdoor North is here to accomplish this through the equipment and apparel they sell at the store.

“We want to foster an inclusive atmosphere for people who are maybe a little intimidated by skiing, biking. They haven’t done it before. There’s a lot of what to know, what to wear, what to be in. And we can facilitate that all the way from boot fitting to our full-service ski and bike shop,” said Erik Howard, the Sales Manager for Outdoor North.

At the service shop, their manager is also passionate about this craft.

He has been fixing bikes since he was 15.

“Probably the most fun thing fun thing so far, has been everyone is genuinely excited to have a shop in superior. They can’t wait to tell me that they’re so excited to have a shop here, that they can get everything they need, and meet some more people who are into the same activities as they are,” said Peter Brinkman, the service shop manager.

The historic building outdoor north is located in has lived many lives.

It used to be a funeral home as well as a cigarette factory.
