UMD Men’s Hockey Staying Busy During Holiday Break

The Bulldogs are currently 5-10.

DULUTH, Minn.- It was a tough first half for the UMD men’s hockey team as they finished with a 5-10 overall record and a four-game losing streak, which included being swept by Arizona State this past weekend.

The season is still young though as UMD is within reach of the top half of the NCHC standings.

Head Coach Scott Sandelin says the holiday break gives his team plenty of time to improve in all aspects of the program.

“We have to get better. It’s no different, whether you’re playing or not you’re doing the same thing. This gives us a little more time. Obviously we have some recruiting to do, Adam and Brant went on the road today. We’ll do recruiting as much as we can through this break so doesn’t affect guys being gone for practice. But I want them to all enjoy their families and get a little mental break,” said Sandelin.

The Bulldogs still have one game in 2024. That comes on New Year’s Eve at Bemidji State.
